Azerbaijan Technology University, established on the initiative of our National Leader Heydar Aliyev, today plays a significant role in training highly qualified specialists for critical sectors of our republic’s economy. The university has developed a modern material-technical infrastructure and formed a faculty capable of conducting effective pedagogical and scientific work. The scientific-research laboratories operating at the university play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of the educational process and research activities.
Today, the vast majority of people worldwide extensively use computers for various purposes. Particularly for the younger generation, computer usage has become an ordinary part of their daily lifestyle.
In the modern era, the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is one of the vital indicators of a country’s intellectual and scientific potential, and the necessity of this process is felt even more acutely in today’s globalized world. The rapid advancement and proliferation of these technologies create vast opportunities for human development.
The Republic of Azerbaijan has also taken serious and successful steps toward building an information society and advancing computerization. A key objective of the state policy in this field is the widespread application of ICT across various sectors of society, particularly in the education system.
The adoption of ICT is a high-priority issue that directly influences the formation of a new generation of Azerbaijani citizens equipped with modern knowledge and skills. For this reason, in recent years, the development of ICT infrastructure and aligning its application with global standards have become priority directions in our country. To achieve this, the state has implemented various projects and measures in the field of ICT application. Activities in this sphere are focused on establishing ICT infrastructure, which is considered one of the most critical stages of ongoing reforms.
President Ilham Aliyev has also implemented specific measures to ensure that the information society in our country progresses on a practical level within a concrete action plan. Prioritizing the development of ICT infrastructure and elevating its application to global standards remain key directions for the advancement of this system.
Currently, in our republic, great emphasis is placed on specialists’ ability to work with ICT and utilize it effectively across all sectors, especially in education. Since the best way to master ICT knowledge starts from secondary school, this is one of the defining features of the policy implemented in this field. In our modern world, rapidly advancing information technologies and systems have penetrated homes, workplaces, entertainment, and leisure spaces, becoming an inseparable part of our lives.
It is precisely from this perspective that the “Automation, Communication, and Information Technologies” journal was established at Azerbaijan Technology University. The journal’s mission is to publish the insights of scientists and experts working in ICT on current issues and to present their findings to the attention of national and international scientific communities.
